Thanks for digging deeper to learn about who we are here at East Hills Alliance.  My prayer for you is that you will know you are in a safe place with people who love the Lord and will do our best to point you to Him, no matter your current circumstances or pain.

I am the new counselor here at East Hills. I lived too long as a 'pew sitter' without a clue what it meant to be 'born again'.  I have experienced heart ache and loss due to my own poor choices and know the hope and healing a life with Jesus brings.  I believe Revelation 12:11 that says, "They will overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony".  It is the word of the testimony of my life before and after Jesus that helps me be safe with those who don't yet know Him, trust Him or are struggling in their walk with Him.

I have been a counselor in the Longview/Kelso area since 2009.  As I neared my 50's and saw that my family nest was emptying, I felt the Lord prompting me to pursue a formal bible based counseling ministry. I have a BS in Psychology from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) from 1980 so I have always felt the tug on my heart to help people.  For 10 years I had been leading women's bible studies and taking women through seasons of change and pain by praying and informally counseling them through the Word of God.  As our youngest son, Dan Lingenfelder, left for George Fox, our middle daughter, Katie Mozes, married and wrapped up her MS in Engineering at WSU and our oldest daughter, Shara Morris, began her own family in the Portland area, it was time for me to dive in and pursue a formal counseling education.

At that same time, my husband Jack Wright and I built our forever home on a 7 acre tree farm in Toutle, started raising Indian Runner ducks and planted a large garden.  I relax by watching our trees grow and watching our funny ducks waddle through our garden and bog.  I always have a stack of books I am reading in my office and by my bed on biblical counseling, true personal stories of triumph over adversity, and fun bible based fiction by authors like Boede Thoene, Og Mandino, Ellen Gunderson Traylor and Lynn Austin.  I am a sucker for the old "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and Guideposts.

In addition to having a BS and an MA, I have been trained by Michael Dye in the Genesis Process, a bible based relapse prevention program.  I have been facilitating Genesis Change Groups since 2012 as well as seeing counseling clients several days a week. I love how the Word has been confirmed in my counseling research!  Even new brain research adds to the depth of what the Lord has always told us.  I am excited and confident that the Lord meets with any willing heart and will restore us to wholeness as we trust Him more daily.

I look forward to meeting you at one of our church family worship services or gatherings.
