What's new at East Hills
Remember to have your family picture taken, and fill out the information card before or after the worship service today, whether you are brand new or have been here for years. It doesn’t mean you are committing to membership or that you’ll be locked in to our church family, but it will help us to get better connected and be more effective in praying for each other by name! There will also be an opportunity next week---and we will give you a digital copy of the photo that you can use if you would like one.
Life After Fifty
LAF usually gathers the last Tuesday of the month, October is an exception and we will meet this Tuesday, October 24. Join us at 6p in the Community Room for a potluck gather for those over 50! It’s fun and a great way to connect with others!
Fall Missions Dinner
Joyce Johns from Cambodia will be our guest speaker next Saturday at the Fall Missions Dinner & Dessert Potluck, sponsored by Great Commission Women. Bring your whole family and you will be blessed as the theme of “more” is considered in regards to missions. Dinner is at 5p---$5 for individuals and $15 for family with additional offering opportunity to help those working against human trafficking---sign up in the Welcome Center. Please bring a dessert to share. During the meal time there will be a brief introduction to Joyce, and then she will be sharing during the sermon time at our Saturday evening service. On Sunday morning we will be having an additional short interview with her during the worship service at both The Grove and at East Hills.
Good News Club
One of the ministries we pray for and support is CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). This past summer they had a total of 799 children being reached with the Gospel and 23 decisions made for Christ. We have an opportunity to come alongside them in a powerful way at Butler Acres, our neighborhood school. They will be starting a Good News Club (an after-school Bible club) on October 24, and they could use helpers and they are in need of volunteers to help provide snacks for the kids. If you are interested in helping, contact Pastor Steve at email@example.com. You can use the tote in the Welcome Center to place your snack donations (store-bought snacks only, please). THANK YOU!
Operation Christmas Child
Thanks in advance for participating in the annual tradition of Operation Christmas Child! You may pick up a box or two in the Welcome Center, along with guidelines for filling the boxes. For more info see Jenn Sharer or Joleen Runnels.
